Wanclouds Credits Overview
Credits are the unified unit of consumption across Wanclouds AI. Every action—whether interacting with AI, executing cloud operations, or storing data—draws from a shared credit balance based on actual usage.
This model provides a consistent and transparent way to measure and control how platform resources are consumed.
Credit Consumption Model
Credits are consumed across three primary categories:
-
AI Processing
Interactions with AI assistants consume credits based on token usage. Both input (requests) and output (responses) contribute to total consumption, with more complex or longer interactions using proportionally more credits. -
Infrastructure Execution
Automation tasks such as provisioning, scaling, backups, and monitoring utilize compute and orchestration resources. Credit usage reflects the scope and intensity of these operations. -
Platform Services
Credits are also allocated toward platform-level capabilities such as data retention, log storage, and (where applicable) managed support and operational assistance.
How Credit Usage Scales
Credit consumption is directly proportional to workload complexity and resource usage. For example:
- Lightweight AI queries or short interactions consume minimal credits
- Multi-step automation workflows or large-scale infrastructure operations consume more
- Extended data retention or high-volume logging increases ongoing credit usage
This usage-based model ensures you only pay for what you actively use.
Credit Lifecycle and Expiry
Credits in your account may come from different sources, each with its own lifecycle:
-
Plan-allocated credits
These credits are included with your subscription plan and reset at the end of each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over. -
Purchased (add-on) credits
These are the additional credits that you can buy on top of your plan allocated credits. They are also tied to your current billing cycle. If they are not used before the cycle ends, they will expire and do not carry forward.
Zero-Balance Behavior
When all available credits (both plan and purchased) are exhausted, the platform enforces controlled limitations to prevent unintended overuse.
- AI interactions are paused — new requests cannot be processed until credits are available
- Automation workflows are restricted — new executions cannot be initiated
- In-progress operations may either complete or pause safely depending on their execution state and system design
- Read-only access remains available — you can still view dashboards, historical data, and usage insights
To restore full functionality, you can either:
- Purchase additional credits, or
- Wait for your next billing cycle for plan credits to renew
This ensures predictable cost control while maintaining access to critical system visibility.
Managing and Optimizing Credit Usage
Effective credit management helps ensure uninterrupted operations and cost efficiency:
-
Monitor usage trends: Track consumption through the Billing dashboard to understand how credits are being utilized over time.
-
Align usage with workload patterns: Schedule or optimize resource-intensive operations to match your credit availability.
-
Leverage add-on credits for flexibility: Use purchased credits to handle bursts in demand without interrupting workflows.
-
Evaluate plan fit: If usage consistently approaches or exceeds your plan limits, upgrading may provide better cost efficiency.
